Synopsis
A matinee idol is preparing to go on tour to Africa in a repertoire of five plays. He is teetering on the edge of “middle age” and trying to delay its approach by romancing young women. In this, he is not helped by a down-to-earth secretary and an affectionate ex-wife. Various characters descend on him to hamper his preparations for departure and wrestle with his vanity.
